Commissioning-Based Energy Management
Originally founded and developed by the AABC Commissioning Group (ACG), the EMP program was created by experts in both energy management and analysis and commissioning. EMA firmly believes that commissioning processes are essential to ensuring that energy conservation measures (ECMs) are implemented properly so that their benefits persist. The training we provide in the EMP program fully integrates these Cx principles (including EBCx) into all programs. In fact, all of our EMP seminar trainers are also ACG’s certified Commissioning Authorities (CxAs).
It’s Nationally and Locally Recognized
The EMP is one of only two certification programs to by recognized by The Department of Energy’s Better Buildings® Workforce Guidelines Program in the Energy Manager category. The EMP certification program is also accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) based on the International Standard ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024. ANSI Standard 17024 is well-recognized within the industry as the highest standard in personnel certification accreditation.
EMP certificants meet the “Qualified Energy Auditor” requirements for under ASHRAE 211, and beyond that are specifically called upon to verify data and carry out energy audits for various local energy benchmarking and building performance laws throughout the U.S.
Individual and Company Exposure
Professionals with the EMP certification receive an instant credibility with the client and when job seeking. The highly marketable certification not only gives you recognition for your energy management expertise, but also for implementing commissioning best practices. On a company level, EMA wants you to grow. Through our newsletter, social, article contributions, website, and industry webinars, we are constantly looking for ways to put our members in the spotlight. We grow together.
To Join the Allied Authorities in Building Performance
EMA is strategically aligned with the AABC Commissioning Group (ACG) and the Associated Air Balance Council (AABC). Together, we make up the Authorities in Building Performance and represent over 600 member companies and 2,000 certified professionals in the testing, adjusting, and balancing, commissioning, and energy management industries. We believe in a strong synergy among these fields and work together to produce industry standards for building optimization. Once a year, we present the CxEnergy Conference & Expo with a multi-track, 32-session technical program led by top industry experts.
